What Jess checks before a note goes up

Each note is read against its sources before it publishes. Park and trail rules are checked against the official page that sets them. Travel details go back to the carrier, venue or rental that publishes them. Gear sizes come from the maker’s own listing. Some details change with the season, like leash rules or opening hours. For those, we say where the detail came from so you can confirm it first.

Specs, walks and first-hand words

Some gear pieces line items up using the specs their makers publish. Those notes say plainly that the comparison comes from published specs. First-hand use appears only where the writer tells you about their own walks, trips or setup. If a harness hasn’t been out on a real walk with us, the note won’t read as though it has.

Paws, heat and the limits of a field note

Notes on hot pavement, water breaks or car sickness are general reading for dog people. They don’t replace advice from a veterinarian or another qualified professional who knows your dog.

When a note gets something wrong

Jess reviews published pages and fixes errors as they turn up. A fixed note tells you what was changed and on which date.
